Replacing Your Water Filter

For side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille, follow these instructions for replacing your filter:

1. Push the eject button, then pull the filter cap. Do not twist cap.
2. Remove the filter cap by turning it counter clockwise. Set aside cap. Discard old filter.
3. Remove the packaging and O-ring covers from the new filter.
4. Align arrows on the cap and new filter. Turn clockwise to snap in place.
5. Push filter into the base grill until the eject button pops. Gently tug on cap to ensure it is snug.
6. Flush the water system until a total of 3 gallons (12 L) has been dispensed.

Home Made Anemometer

Home Made Anemometer Tube. Duration : 1.77 Mins.

Anemometer is made from 3 cut 2" PVC caps (cups), 1 cut 1" PVC reducer (hub), 1 cut 1 1/4" cap (bearing cover), small threaded rod/nuts, 5/16" threaded rod (mount), ABEC 9 roller blade bearing, 5/16" jam, lock and castle nuts, cut sheet aluminum (pickup mount) , one small round magnet and a Sigma bicycle computer. The weather vane is sitting on a Maxtor Hard drive motor and bearing. The vane consists of 1 3/4" PVC cap, 1 3/4" PVC plug, small threaded rod and nuts, drilled trimmed and cut fishing weight and a small piece of sheet aluminum. I have yet to put a potentiometer on the vane. In the end I plan to finish it as a complete weather station, with temperature sensor and barometric pressure sensor. Maybe a humidity sensor. I have not decided yet. This is all in preparation of building a home brew wind generator from Volvo strut parts. The anemometer starts up in as little as 1 MPH breezes and has been very accurate. The weather vane is suffering from too little tail and too much weight on the nose. I have already made another one. Just have not installed yet.

In this multi-part review series by Nutnfancy, three excellent pump combat shotguns are covered in detail: the Remington 870 (Talo Special Edition), the Mossberg 590A1, and the discontinued Winchester 1300 Defender (similar gun by FN USA now). There are a couple of other players in pumps like FN, Charles Daly, and some off brands but these three are the stars of the series. Several semi-automatic combat shotguns also compete against this type and these brands. These autos include the Benelli Super 90/M2/M4, the Remington 1100/11-87 Tactical series, the Mossberg 930, Saiga variations, the Beretta FP101(discontinued), Winchester Super X3 (more of a hunting gun), FN SLP, and a few others. However these auto guns rarely function well on low-base/low power shot loads, needing full power loads to reliably cycle (w/o port or spring mods). Seemingly not a big deal right? Wrong. That's because you have to train on the shotgun to get good at it., pump or auto. Training with full power loads will bankrupt you if you are paying the bill (even PDs have a tough time affording the cost), you will soon quit, and your skills will suffer. A good combat pump shotgun will cycle any load you throw in it and it will do it all day long with almost perfect reliability. Low base birdshot, high base, odd balls, non-lethal rounds: all will fire and shuck just fine ...

Even the best Fred and Ginger musicals are merely lavish excuses for some of the most elegant dancing ever put on screen, and Top Hat is no exception. The story is a silly but timeless tale of mistaken identity that compounds itself to extremes. Fred Astaire is the famous American hoofer Jerry Travers, in London preparing for a new show with his befuddled producer Horace Hardwick (the always entertaining Edward Everett Horton) when he falls for Dale Tremont (Ginger Rogers), a lovely, wisecracking American girl as light on her feet as Jerry. Dale believes Jerry to be Horace, the husband of her best friend Madge (Helen Broderick) and rebuffs his advances by marrying her dressmaker Alberto (Erik Rhodes), but in the best tradition of musical comedy, true love finds its own way. Practically the entire cast of the 1934 hit The Gay Divorcee reunites for this frothy confection, along with director Mark Sandrich, designer Van Nest Polglase, and choreographer Hermes Pan. Irving Berlin provides a tuneful score, including "Cheek to Cheek," which provides a classic duet for Astaire and Rogers, and "Top Hat, White Tie and Tails," which remains one of Astaire's finest solo numbers. Polglase outdoes himself with sets both elegant and outrageous and Hermes Pan's choreography is as smooth as ever, but ultimately it's the grace and chemistry of the leads that makes Top Hat top entertainment. --Sean Axmaker
